I have two 9100a running Yoics 2.47 software. Both of them drop off the network after about 4 hours. This happens with a hard-coded IP address or using DHCP. Reboot, and it works again for another 4 to 6 hours.
I have several other devices in the network including IP cameras and NAS and PCs. None of them have problems, nor is there an IP conflict.

Ideas anyone?

I found out what the problem is. I am using Trendnet green switches which shut down inactive ports. Or the data rate is being re-negotiated. Either way, the switch is dropping the port data rate to 10 Mb/s. I put an older Linksys switch between the Trendnet switch and the 9100A. That seems to have solved the issue. The 9100A has stayed up for 3 days. Usually it had dropped out in 3 hours.

Update. The Linksys switch started going the same as the Trendnet. I connected an old Belkin Wireless G router as a switch, and again the 9100A is staying on line.

I also tried polling the switch with a "keep alive" ping, but that made no difference.

Anyone seen this before?

Ive had issues with the green switches and short <10foot cables and certain devices, does yours fall under this?

If so try a >10foot Ethernet cable and see if that solves your problem.

I too have the same issue. Everything worked fine with my old AT&T uverse wireless router. It was plug and play for the most part and securityspy on my mac worked very well with the 9100. AT&T upgraded my router and for the last few month I have been around and around trying to get it to stop dropping. I tried everything you guys did. Even longer Ethernet cable. It's plugged directly into the same router as the computer. I have turned all firewalls of and all settings that would cause the router to kick the signal. So I really don't have any other options except to just buy a new dvr/ server and scrap all of my hard work. Any updates or suggestions would be appreciated considering the age of this post. Signed, 4 cameras sitting dead in the water.

Same issue here. I have a TP LINK 300M Wireless N Router Model No. TL-WR841N and I lose the connection to my 9100A after some time. At first I was using a TP Link mini pocket router in client mode so I didn't have to route an ethernet cable to my room, but changed to a 25ft ethernet cable instead; still having problems.

OK, I have a workaround. I bought a $50 wemo wifi switch and am using IFTTT to power cycle my ip 9100a every hour. Kind of hacky, but it works!!

EDIT: OK, it works like 25% of the time. And 24 power cycles a day would probably wear out the electronics faster so not a good long term solution.

EDIT2: I changed the network settings of the ip 9100a to have a static IP address and it seems to be staying online. For anyone out there who has the same issue, try making the device have a static IP address and then in your router DHCP settings make the IP address reserved for the 9100's MAC address.

Yes the dhcp client is very bad on the 9100, unfortunately its nothing anyone can fix, since it is linked in binary.
