out of focus

Just set my camera up and everything is out of focus in half the frame - anyone have a similar problem - and anything I can do about it, except send the unit back in? Thanks

Since you haven't told us, we don't know what kind of camera you have. So we cannot really help you but in General

What you describe may be a smudge or finger print on the lens or a bound focus ring.

The first can be remidied by wiping the lens with a cotton terry cloth, the 2nd, and this is depending on the camera, you can move the focus ring.
